Every month I get my Credit card statement which is password protected because of security reasons like personal information and credit card info. This is applicable in many financial documents which are sent by Bank. Not only the bank but many government organization like UIDAI also used encryption in Eaadhar.
Here comes the main hustle because I can’t remember multiple passwords of my all PDF files and without a password, I can’t decrypt text/information of that PDF file. It takes too much efforts to remember the password and multiple tries and error methods. (haha I am very lazy in all thee things).
So now the question is how to decrypt these password protected PDF files. If you search “PDF file password removal Software” then there are tones of paid and free software available but again You have to search the perfect software then you need to download it followed by installing the software and then you can able to remove password from the PDF file. What if I tell you that You can do it without any Software. YES! it’s true because GOOGLE CHROME will do this work for you totally free (Now please don’t tell me you haven’t installed Google Chrome in your System).
So for your comfort, I will provide you multiple ways to remove PDF password using chrome as well as with the help of Software. But if you take my advice Google Chrome method is very easy and fast (Rest your choice). Now without wasting your time let’s dive into the solutions.
Remove Password from a PDF File
Suppose You have one password protected PDF file and you want to remove it’s password permanently then follow the given steps:
- In the first step open Google Chrome browser in your system.
- Next step is to Drag and Drop your password protected PDF files to Google Chrome.
- Google Chrome will now prompt you to enter the password of the file. Enter the password and press Enter to open the file.
- Now go to the File menu given in Google Chrome header tab and choose Print (or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Cmd+P on Mac).
- Now Choose the destination printer as “Save as PDF” and click the Save button.
That’s It!
Now if you try to open the PDF file you won’t need any kind of password to see the text/information because Google Chrome will now save the PDF to your desktop but without the password protection.
NOTE: When you click on PRINT PDF you can see there are multiple options given to SAVE PDF. You can Save the PDF in your google drive also because Google Drive has 2 layer security layer protection.
Remove PDF Password using Software
If you are still not happy with the above method and you have to save your time then here is another method by which you can remove PDF password.
The main plus point of using software or any online platform to remove PDF password is it’s very fast and easy. You just have to upload a PDF file and within one click the software will remove the password. However, decrypting PDF files of huge size is not efficient with this method as the time taken for uploading, decrypting and downloading is high.
Here are 2 Online platforms which I recommend to remove PDF password.
Small PDF is a very useful online platform to unlock PDF files allows you to remove PDF passwords instantly if you know the password. One more cool feature of UnlockPDF is that you can add the password protected PDF from your cloud storage such as Google drive Dropbox. Files with an owner password can be unlocked instantly. However, if the file is thoroughly encrypted, you can only unlock the file by providing the correct password.
Just upload your file and the password will be removed from your PDF. You can receive the unlocked PDF by simply clicking download and you are good to go! When you upload a file it is transmitted using a secure connection. Your files are deleted one hour after processing.
Soda PDF is another great website which helps to Merge, Compress, E-sign, Split, Edit and Convert PDF files within few steps. It’s very simple to use. You just have to Upload your password-protected file from your computer or a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox. You can also drag-and-drop your file into the box. Enter the password used to restrict access to the file. If the password you entered matches the one created to lock the file, all restrictions to the file will be removed and you will be able to access it freely. Once your file has been unlocked, you will be able to access it by downloading it to your computer and viewing it in your browser.
